Companion Animal Alliance's mission is:
To reduce the number of animals entering the shelter
To treat animals humanely while they are in the shelter’s care
To find forever homes, foster homes or rescues for lost and abandoned animals
To return lost ones to their families
A Vision of Caring
We seek to:
Prevent animals from entering the system by implementing spay and neuter programs.
Provide humane treatment for animals in our care through strong medical protocols and socialization opportunities.
Expedite the exit of animals from the shelter system by helping lost pets return to their owners, offering creative adoption initiatives, partnering with rescue organizations, and building an active foster care program.
CAA is a nonprofit organization that contracts with the Baton Rouge City-Parish to run our municipal open admission shelter. CAA took over the shelter operations in August of 2010 to expand on the limited resources the City-Parish was operating under by combining City dollars with private fundrasing. With your help we can make Baton Rouge a great place for pets!
